At The SUP Hub we endeavour to bring high quality stand up paddle boarding tuition that is geared around your enjoyment and safety. We aim to help you make the most of your local surroundings by getting involved in the fastest growing water sport in the world.
Stand Up Paddle boarding is a great way to relax, improve your health, meet new people and discover your local coastline and all it has to offer from a perspective that would not have been possible before. As Stand up Paddle boarding is such a low impact activity it is great for all ages, levels of fitness and abilities and not to mention highly addictive.
This is our second year out on the water and with our globally recognised instructors (ASI Accredited) you will get the highest level of tuition at a pace that is tailored to the individual. Whilst always keeping Fun and safety at the forefront we will encourage and support you through the journey that learning to Stand Up Paddle boarding can take you on.
I started Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) through my windsurfing background, having competed for Team GBR at youth and senior levels internationally. I was first introduced to SUP as part of my training program, as SUP was reconsigned as a great form of exercise that allowed me to stay on the water but mix up my training sessions.
Since then I became more involved in the SUP scene, taking part in some SUP racing that led me to joining the UK Naish racing team for a season of events.
In 2015 I qualified as a SUP instructor, and even though I had stopped competing my passion for being out on the water was still strong. Through realising this, I wanted to enable others to experience the benefits of being out on the water and Stand Up Paddle Boarding is the perfect place to start.
Folkestone is the home of Folkestone Sea Sports from where The SUP HUB has stemmed from, to provide Folkestone with a new and exciting water sport that will hopefully get lots more people enjoying our coastline.
Folkestone's Harbour is a beautiful spot for Stand Up Paddle Boarding and we are lucky enough to have it on our door step. The shelter of the Harbour provides a great learning spot for beginners when the tide is in. Then once you have found your balance and have the confidence to explore outside the Harbour, the Harbour Arm provides a protected bay with stunning views of the White cliffs of Dover and the Warren.
Hythe's Beach and Hythe's Royal Military Canal
Our additional locations we have added to our teaching locations this season. Hythe is the Home of Hythe and Saltwood Sailing club that offers lots of water sports activities and have kindly allowed us to run our lessons from there and a SUP night on a Tuesday evening. Hythe Beach front is a more exposed part of the Channel, but on a nice calm day can be a great place to SUP.
Having the Historical Royal military canal set back from the beach, provides a sheltered and tranquil setting for learning for the first time for you to be able to gain your confidence before taking your SUP to the open water.
